FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do you work?
I take a trauma-informed, client-centred approach to therapy. Each session is tailored to your needs and may include counselling, creative exploration, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. Whether using art materials, engaging in somatic techniques, or talk-based therapy, the focus is always on creating a safe and supportive environment for your growth and healing.
What does a session look like?
Sessions are unique to each client, but typically follow this structure:
Grounding and Check-in: Reconnecting with your body and senses, discussing what’s on your mind.
Further Exploration: Using materials like clay, paint, or writing—or focusing on IFS and talk therapy—to explore your inner world.
Harvesting Insights: Reflect on what emerged during the session and integrate these insights into your everyday life.
Not all sessions involve art-making; sometimes, we’ll focus on counselling or psychoeducation.
What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy is a holistic and creative approach to psychotherapy that uses various art forms—such as painting, clay, movement, music, and writing—to facilitate healing and self-discovery. The process focuses on exploration rather than the final product, encouraging clients to connect with their inner world, gain insights, and develop resilience. No prior artistic experience is needed!
What is the ExAT package?
The Expressive Arts Therapy package consists of six sessions designed to explore your unique needs and goals. Each session incorporates various creative modalities, including painting, clay work, writing, and movement, with a focus on intermodal transfer. This powerful method enables a smooth transition between different modalities, deepening insights and further developing your creative abilities. This package offers a structured yet flexible approach, allowing you to engage more deeply in your healing journey at a discounted rate compared to booking individual sessions.
Do I need any art experience?
Not at all! Many of my clients are exploring creative expression for the first time. The goal is not to create a perfect piece of art but to connect with yourself through the process.
What should I bring to a session?
Just yourself! All materials are provided for creative sessions. If there’s anything specific you’d like to incorporate, feel free to bring it along.

As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC), my services may be covered by certain insurance plans. Please check with your provider to confirm coverage. If needed, I can provide a letter to facilitate the process.
Who do you work with?
I work with teens, adults, and seniors from all walks of life. I specialize in supporting women, non-binary individuals, and those navigating challenges like trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, creative block, and life transitions.
Do you offer remote sessions?
I offer online therapy sessions for clients who prefer or require a virtual format.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
How long does therapy typically last?
Therapy is a highly individual process. Some clients find what they need in a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll regularly check in to assess your goals and progress.
Do you offer group workshops?
Yes! I create tailored Expressive Arts Therapy workshops for groups, organizations, and events. These workshops combine movement, art, and writing to foster creativity and connection.
