Welcome to Golem Integrative Creative Therapy!

Maybe you’re here because something in your life feels difficult, stuck, or unresolved. Or perhaps you simply need a place to catch your breath.

I came to therapy as a third career, after years of working as an architect, designer, ceramic artist, and teacher. Today, alongside my therapy work, I continue to sustain my own creative business. I intentionally keep my counselling practice small, allowing me to bring my full presence and care to a limited number of clients while also taking the time to recharge and enjoy life.

Whether in my Burnaby studio or online, my goal is to offer a grounded, creative space for you to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through counselling, parts work (IFS), mindfulness, clay, and expressive arts.

I believe we all carry the capacity to heal, grow, and live more fully. Therapy can help reconnect you with that inner resource and meet the “full catastrophe of living” with greater curiosity, resilience, and care.

A Space for Counselling and Creative Support

Our work together is grounded in choice, flexibility, and respect for each person’s inner rhythm. You may arrive wanting to talk, or perhaps feel more comfortable working with your hands at the potter’s wheel (Mindful Throwing), or moving gently between the two. Therapy doesn’t need to look one particular way to be meaningful.

My Burnaby home studio reflects this approach. It includes two spaces: a cozy counselling room and a clay and art studio, allowing us to work through conversation, creative tools, or both. I also meet clients online across Canada and continue to be surprised by how much creativity, connection, and grounded support can emerge even in virtual sessions.

I wholeheartedly believe you don’t need to be an artist to be a creative person. Together, we’ll reconnect with the inner spark that lives within each of us.

Who I Support

Adults, teens and elders, who come to therapy with different needs, backgrounds, and stories, including highly sensitive individuals (HSPs) and those exploring neurodiversity.
My clients usually are dealing with:

  • Anxiety, stress, or burnout, especially in adult children of emotionally immature parents.

  • Trauma, grief, and loss, including legacy burdens and cultural identity.

  • Immigration and relocation experiences, and the unique stresses they bring.

  • Parenting and caregiving challenges

  • Inner conflict, low self-worth, or a feeling of being "stuck."

  • Teens and adults who struggle or feel overwhelmed by traditional talk therapy.

How I Work

My approach is grounded in flexibility, curiosity, and respect for each person’s inner rhythm. Drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, and somatic clay work, sessions are experiential, collaborative, and tailored to your unique process. As a Certified Level 2 IFS therapist, I support clients in exploring the different parts of themselves with greater compassion, clarity, and care.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy to be effective—it can be grounding, creative, and even enjoyable.

Clay holds a special place in my work. Coming from a creative background, I’ve seen how somatic practices help reconnect the body and mind. It allows us to release tension and give form to emotions that words cannot always reach. Whether at the potter’s wheel or in conversation, our work is about finding the language that fits you.

An Invitation to Begin

The best time to begin therapy is now. Many of us wait until we feel stronger or more “put together” before reaching out, but therapy is designed precisely for those hard moments. You do not need to edit yourself or arrive at your best. Come exactly as you are, and I’ll meet you there with warmth, steadiness, and support.

I currently maintain a short waitlist, but openings often shift. I do my best to accommodate new clients as quickly as possible. If you are ready, you are welcome to reach out to set up a preliminary consultation.

Art and clay can reveal stories, emotions, and strengths that words alone sometimes cannot. Here are a few glimpses (shared with permission) from clients exploring their inner worlds.

“I had a blast hiding behind my mask! It let me try out new parts of myself safely, and now I've integrated them into my daily life. No more mask needed!”

A handmade ceramic cup with a black and white abstract pattern and a red accent, placed on a white surface against a neutral wall.

In the quiet of the evening, a teacup rests,

As the golden sun descends, painting skies in hues of the fall.

Life's fleeting moments, like a sunset's graceful dance,

Embrace the heart's journey, weaving joy and grief in one.

Through seasons of laughter, and through sorrow's storm,

We shed tears of both joy and pain, in the circle of life's embrace.

For in each cry, a healing balm, and strength found in the breath of grace,

In the ebb and flow of love, we find solace in the face of death.

“I recently drew a map of my life, and it looked like lots of disconnected islands, each isolated from the other. It gave me clarity about where I am right now. It's like I created some space between me and my experiences. It's freeing and helps me see things less judgementally”
